The process for commissioning a portrait is straight forward. Once the type of portrait has been
decided, I will arrange a visit in order to take photos/sketches. If a visit is not possible
(it may be a surprise gift) I will need to see a selection of photographs you may already have, or,
help guide you through taking photographs yourself.
Once we are happy with the composition of the portrait, I will carry out the commission in my studio
providing you with regular updates and preview images of the artwork. After the portrait is completed,
final payment is made and the portrait carefully packaged and delivered to you.
The time frame for an oil painting is approximately 4 weeks depending on my work load and the
complexity of the composition. Drawings are approximately 2 weeks (please note that for pastel
drawings I will require images of the head and shoulders to be sent to me. A visit is not usually
necessary or is at an extra cost).
